Dr. Deborah Lee is an Orange County native and attended UCLA, where she graduated Cum Laude while majoring in Business Economics. After working as a financial analyst at a Big Four firm, she decided that her passion was actually in working with people and making them smile.
Dr. Lee decided to change careers and wound up back at UCLA, where she attended dental school and graduated on the Dean's list with honors from the Department of Orthodontics. During her time there, she was also awarded a scholarship to conduct research at UCLA's Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
She was accepted into one of the top orthodontics residencies, UCSF, where she trained for 3 years in Orthodontics while also obtaining a master's in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences.
Dr. Lee has numerous research publications in several renowned scientific journals such as the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. She is also a board-certified orthodontist, an honor achieved by less than half of practicing orthodontists. This requires extensive additional training to successfully pass both a written and clinical exam, demonstrating her skills and competence as a practitioner.
When Dr. Lee isn't caring for patients, she loves spending time with her husband, Daniel, and their daughters, Lanora and Leia. During her free time, she enjoys rocking out on the guitar, rock climbing, and appreciating architecture.
